4:04 AM - Welcome Year 2006

This year was a hearty welcome with - well of course a good sleep and 2 movies with a tea-party with my collegues at home. That may not sound very interesting of course - but I welcomed the new year with a relaxed mood.

The 3rd of the year was however a very good experience for me. We went Skiiing to Niigata. Niigata is 1.5hours by Shinkansen from Tokyo. With my collegues who work with me - after a lot of initial push for the ski, finally, we were able to gather a team of 9! Prakash,

Initially - I was skeptic about my abilities to Ski around over there... I even wondered if I will be able to stand with the ski on my legs or even lift it for that matter. After a 2 hour training at the school, I was all ready for exploring the slopes with my ski's on! Thanks to the instructor - Akihiro (if I remember the name properly).

Added to the ski-ing experience was my first experience in a LOT of snow filled around me. That was fun since the first time I experienced snow was very mild and I was not out there when it was all snowing. In short - a very enjoyable day of my life was yesterday - when I discovered that only a sporty mind is all that is required to enjoy a good sport.

Of course - my first experience on Shinkansen too. I couldn't really FEEL the speed... though I can tell it is a well architected train.

I will post more photos and stuff later.
